Located on the slope of the Blatenský mountain and above the Wolf’s pit, the Ice pit (Ledová jáma) has been shaped from tin mining at the Georg greisen vein in 16th to 18th century. Similar to the Wolf's pit it is about 20 m deep but narrower. This results in stagnant air circulation and temperature conditions that preserve remains of snow and ice all seasons in the year. Ice from this pit was used for treatment of wounded soldiers battling with Napoleon at Leipzig in 1813.
