"On the edge of the forests of the Hradiště (Doupov) military area east of Karlovy Vary lies the once important village of Svatobor, first mentioned in 1239. Its name is no longer found on current maps, despite the fact that 250 German residents lived here even before the Second World War . However, they had to move out and were replaced by settlers. But even they did not warm up here for a long time and in 1954 they were expelled. Today, Svatobor is mainly remembered by the monumental ruins of the church, which lie on the terrace above the valley."
