The God's Grave Chapel is located about 400 m east of Velenice (Wellnitz) on the road to Brniště (Brins). In the years 1710-1711 it included the sculptural decoration with statues and reliefs of the folk artist and economist Schille of the Velenice farm no. 2 carved in a sandstone rock. Originally intended as a replacement for a church built in Velenice in 1735, it later became a popular place of pilgrimage.

The interior of this elongated chapel is divided into three smaller rooms. The access leads into the middle room through a wide entrance portal to which originally led some spilled in the road construction stages. Directly opposite the entrance is an altar with a niche for the body of Christ, which was carried over in a procession from the Velenice church at Easter. In the adjoining rooms, illuminated by two windows, there are folk relief paintings from the Passion Cycle with remnants of a painterly decoration still visible today. Some of the pictures illustrate the last moments of Jesus Christ's life, from his prayers on the Mount of Olives to his crucifixion on Golgotha.

Originally, the chapel was richly decorated on the outside wall. Above the entrance were some stone tablets depicting the secrets of the rosary cycle, after which the chapel was also called the "Rosary Chapel". On the left of the entrance were reliefs in the rock with the pictures of the Annunciation, the Visitation, homage of the three kings, offering, introduction to the temple and apprenticeship of Christ, on the right side Raphael and Tobias, the resurrection, ascension of Christ, the descent of the Holy Spirit and the coronation of the Virgin Mary. In the pillar next to the entrance, a relief of the crucifixion of Christ from the first third of the 19th century is carved.

After the Second World War, the chapel was freely accessible and was abandoned to gradual destruction. Most of the external reliefs were stolen, only two of them could be saved, which were stored for many years in the Museum of Local History in Česká Lípa (Bohemian Leipa), before they could be returned to Velenice. Prior to July 1, 2002, the chapel was repaired at the community's expense and supplemented by the previously destroyed canopy. The entrance and the two windows were provided with bars, so that further destruction of the chapel could be stopped. Through the entrance and the side windows, however, one can look into the chapel and visitors interested in a more detailed visit can borrow the key in the town hall in Velenice.
